Menstrual Health and Reproductive Rights Project (October 2019 - December 2021)

From October 2019 to December 2021, we implemented a project funded by Amplified Change in Maiduguri, focusing on menstrual health and reproductive rights. This initiative aimed to provide free menstrual health products and education while promoting awareness of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The project also trained women and girls to become Community Change Agents, empowering them to spread knowledge and advocate for menstrual health and reproductive rights in their communities.

Reducing harm through MRM and uptake of contraception for two IDP Camp (2017 - Present)

Since 2017, CENPAD has been implementing a project funded by SAAF in the 2 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Maiduguri, North-East Nigeria. The project focuses on reducing the risks of sexual violence, unsafe abortion, and maternal health complications for women and girls. It aims to improve access to safe reproductive health services, and increase the uptake of contraception.

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Support Project (2021 - 2023)

CENPAD implemented a Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) support project in Rivers State from 2018 to 2020. The project aimed to enhance the quality of life for children and mothers living with T1D by providing essential medical supplies such as insulin, diabetes management tools, and education on proper care practices. The project also focused on building local healthcare capacity to ensure long-term support for individuals affected by T1D.

Project 2: Ending FGM and Early Marriage Through Awareness and Protection (2018 - 2021)

CENPAD carried out a multi-faceted project tackling female genital mutilation (FGM) and early marriage. The initiative combined grassroots advocacy, legal intervention, and survivor support. We worked closely with local stakeholders to promote anti-FGM laws, trained healthcare workers to provide safe interventions, and rehabilitated survivors in two States of North west in Nigeria. Awareness campaigns educated communities on the dangers of FGM and child marriage, leading to policy shifts and behavioral change.
